As part of our new topic, we turned the hall into our very own Titanic. We dressed up as passengers and were divided into different classes. Here are some of the amazing activities that we did.
First we had to line up to present our tickets before boarding.
Then we moved around to different areas of the ship.
On deck we played games
We read in the library and wrote logs to say what we had seen and what we had done.
We explored cabins and looked through luggage.
We did drawings on top deck and had a fancy afternoon tea in the first class dining room.
In third class we had to make our own entertainment and we didn't get delicious cakes, all we had was bread and water. The quarters were also very crowded but we still had lots of fun.
We found flowers blooming and buds about to open.
We found that trees were blossoming.
We found seedlings sprouting.
The tree where we found all the conkers in Autumn had changed too.
We joined in with the Easter celebrations. We made lots of Easter crafts at school and created Easter bonnets for our school wide competition. Here are some of our egg-cellent entries;
There were tall hats
Light up hats
and big hats
All of our hats were super fun
We were lucky enough to have some eggs brought to school. We went to visit them in their incubator and talked about how they were different. and the same. We also looked at the life cycle of a chicken and were able to see some of the chicks after they were hatched.
This year we came to school dressed in sports clothing and tried out a bounce fit class. We had a hopping good time, as you can see and some of us really flew.
We also popped in to the Gosport Discovery center to learn about libraries and listen to a story about toys. After that we stepped back in time and in our time detective groups, explored toys from the past. We created a timeline for toys using "a very long time ago", "a long time ago" and "Now". We were very good at this because we have been exploring old and new toys before our visit.
Not only did we get to play with lots of old toys, we also had a chance to make for of our own.
We were exceptionally good and our teachers were very proud of the way we behaved and the effort we put into our learning.
We had a TOY-TASTIC day!
