Welcome to Morpurgo Class Page!
The children of Year 3 choose the name Morpurgo after reading some of ‘The Butterfly Lion’ by Michael Morpurgo, the incredible children’s author. Although it was a close call with Enid Blyton and The Magic Faraway Tree, we loved the African setting and the relationship between Bertie and his precious lion cub. We are currently still reading it but will upload some short reviews when we are finished!
We aim to keep this page up to date with all of the exciting things that we have been doing inside school and hope that you will enjoy sharing in these experiences. Our Year 3 team is made up of 30 helpful, caring, polite and sensible children along with Mrs Le Page, Mrs Jones and Mrs Lester. Below is some of the key information that you might need but please also check our termly-updated newsletters and our curriculum big pictures for additional information which can be found below.
Year 3 is an exciting year full of interesting topics and we are already enjoying our learning. We think that it is very important that we think positively about our learning and know that we can achieve anything. We have begun Year 3 by thinking about a growth mind set where we turn ‘I can’t do it’ into ‘I am going preserve and try another way!’ Perhaps you can get involved too?
This is just part of what makes our classroom a happy and positive place to be. Our classroom charter also encourages us to make the most out of our time at school and work together as a team to make Morpurgo classroom a fantastic learning environment for everyone! We all signed it too!
