Welcome to Da Vinci class!
“The noblest pleasure is the joy of understanding.”
We are a class of 27 Year 5 children. We have two very nice teachers called Mrs Halligan, who teaches us Monday – Thursday and Mrs Beanland who teaches us on Fridays. We also have a kind and caring LSA called Mrs Balogh who helps us in class every morning and works with groups on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
“As you cannot do what you want, want what you can do.”
We are named after the famous inventor / artist / mathematician / musician Leonardo da Vinci. We chose da Vinci as our class name as he inspired us as a very talented learner who excelled in so many different areas. His famous paintings and drawings include the Mona Lisa, the Last Supper and Vitruvian Man. His sketchbooks contained many designs for inventions which were years ahead if his time, including a helicopter, a parachute, a flying contraption, a catapult and a tank. He was very interested in the relationship between Art and Science.
“To develop a complete mind: Study the science of art; Study the art of science. Learn how to see. Realise that everything connects to everything else.”
Make sure you check this page throughout the year to see all the exciting things we have been up to!
