Independent reading activity

As this week is Storytelling Week, for your independent reading activity today, we would like you to have a go at telling a story using some of the characters and objects from 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' but have a go at putting a twist on the tale. Get a piece of paper and write down at least 10 different characters / objects / settings and then take one card out at a time and build a story (remember that you often introduce the character and the setting before you introduce a problem (or a mini problem) and then finish by including the resolution). If you use the characters of the 3 goats, the troll and a bridge, it would be a twist on the usual tale. You could film yourself doing it - or even your family having a go together! There are some cards below that you could use to help but add your own ideas too! You don't need to do any writing today, storytelling is the art of spoken stories. It can be silly - that's OK!
