This year's class name theme is countries and Year 3 decided we wanted to be Zimbabwe! The reason we voted on this country is because it has the world's largest waterfall, Victoria Falls, and it has all of the 'big 5' animals (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo). We will be learning more about all these things and more as the year progresses.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to get in touch with the school at any time or via our class email email@example.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Our PE day is a Thursday. Children need to come to school in their full PE kit and will stay in it all day.
P.E kit should consist of black/blue shorts and a plain white t shirt with no logos, including trainers. Tracksuit bottoms can be worn during the colder times and should be a dark colour. Children can also wear a jumper/hoody which should ideally be a dark colour too. Your child will be required to tie their hair up and remove their earrings (which should be done at home if possible) in accordance with Hampshire guidance. Please ensure they have their water bottle in school everyday.
If you are not in school and need Remote Learning, please click on the Remote Learning link in the Home Learning Guidance section above.
We will be sending your child home with reading books and are planning to visit the school library again as soon as possible. Please read at home as often as possible and bring your book back into school when finished to replace it with a new book. We also still have our membership to Bug Club, an online reading platform, and will be sending home updated login details as soon as possible.
We still have membership to the online times tables games at Times Tables Rock Stars and will be able to remind children of their login details in school if they have forgotten them. This is a vital website over the forthcoming year as all Year 3 children will be tested on their Times Tables in Year 4 and they would benefit from a good grounding in timestables this year.
Spellings will be sent home on a Monday to be learnt and discussed before a spelling test the following Monday. Weekly Spellings can be found below if your child misplaces their paper copy or is absent.
