Salama! (Hello in Malagasy) This year's class name theme is countries and Year 4 decided we wanted to be Madagascar! The reason we voted on this country is because we loved that it was an island and it was home to many species of lemur! We will update this class page regularly, so please come back and see what we have been up to!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to get in touch with the school at any time or via our class email firstname.lastname@example.org and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Miss Harding (Class Teacher), Mrs Balogh (LSA) and Mrs Sewell (LSA)
PE will be slightly different in the meantime. Our PE day is a Monday. Children need to come to school in their full PE kit and will stay in it all day. In the Autumn term, Year 4 will be swimming. Please ensure your child brings their swimming costume, towel and a swimming hat in a bag big enough to fit all their clothes and shoes in.
P.E kit should consist of black/blue shorts and a plain white t shirt with no logos, including trainers. Tracksuit bottoms can be worn during the colder times and should be a dark colour. Children can also wear a jumper/hoody which should ideally be a dark colour too. Your child will be required to tie their hair up and remove their earrings (which should be done at home if possible) in accordance with Hampshire guidance. Please ensure they have their water bottle in school everyday.
If you are not in school and need Remote Learning, please click on the Curriculum Activities link in the Curriculum Activities section above.
We will be sending your child home with reading books and are planning to visit the school library again as soon as possible. Please read at home as often as possible and bring your book back into school when finished to replace it with a new book. We also still have our membership to Bug Club, an online reading platform, and log in details have been sent home. The school code is: hkkc
We still have membership to the online times tables games at Times Tables Rock Stars and will be able to remind children of their login details in school if they have forgotten them. This is a vital website over the forthcoming year as all Year 4 children will be tested on their Times Tables in June 2022.
Spellings will be sent home on a Friday to be learnt and discussed before a spelling test the following Friday. They will be given in sentences to help children to understand the meaning and usage of the words, and children are encouraged to think of other words that fit the weekly spelling rule. Weekly Spellings can always be found below if your child misplaces their paper copy or is absent.
