Norwood Primary & Pre-School

Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

At Norwood this year, we have chosen famous historical or scientific figures for our class names. Collaboratively, we decided we wanted to be Da Vinci and Jemison Classes this year. We are looking forward to learning more about each figure throughout the academic year.

We will update this page regularly, so please make sure you pop back and have a look to see what we have been up to! We are really looking forward to getting to know your children!

If you have any concerns, please contact the school office and your class teacher will get back to you as soon as possible.

Useful Information

Our PE days are Monday and Thursday Children need to come to school in their full PE kit and will stay in it all day.

Children need to wear a PE kit consisting of black/blue shorts and a white t shirt. Tracksuit bottoms can be worn during the colder times and should be a dark colour. Children can also wear a jumper/hoody which should ideally be a dark colour too. Your child will be required to tie their hair up and remove their earrings (which should be done at home if possible) in accordance with Hampshire guidance. Please ensure they have their water bottle in school everyday.

Swimming starts on Friday 28th February 2025 and all children are required to take part unless there is a medical reason why they should not.

Important documents can be found below, organised by each school term. We will endeavour to upload pdf copies of presentations and meetings but if you need assistance, please contact your child's class teacher.

We will be sending your child home with reading books and library books. Please read at home as often as possible and bring your book back into school when finished to replace it with a new book.

We still have membership to the online times tables games at Times Tables Rock Stars and will be able to remind children of their login details in school if they have forgotten them. This is a vital website over the forthcoming year as all Year 4 children will be tested on their Times Tables in June 2025.

Spellings will be set each week for you to practise at home with your child. Please see your child's class teacher if you have any feedback or questions.
