At Norwood this year, we have chosen to have the theme of rivers for our class names. In Year R, we have chosen to name our classes after rivers which are local to us. We will be learning about the river we are named after throughout the year.
In Meon Class, our teacher is Mrs McPhail.
If you would like to contact Mrs McPhail directly, please use the email address below.

We are very lucky to be supported by our learning support assistants, Miss Kenney and Miss Daniels. Mrs Patten also helps to look after Meon Class on Tuesdays and Miss Fisk helps to look after Hamble Class on Tuesday afternoons.
In Year R we enjoy exploring the different areas of our learning environment, both indoors and in our garden.
Our P.E. lessons take place on Wednesdays and they will be held in the hall during the autumn term. Please send your child to school wearing their P.E. kit. Please ensure that all earrings are removed and that long hair is tied back.
We will be visiting our Discovery Centre on Thursday afternoons to explore the books. We will then be able to choose a book to borrow and read at home.
Please try to visit our Year R page on a regular basis to find out what we have been up to and refer to the attachments below for information which will include a copy of our most recent class newsletter.
Norwood BLP Learning Heroes
At Norwood we believe in giving children the strategies and skills to be able to work their way through a problem independently. Over the next few weeks we will be introducing each of the BLP (Building Learning Power) Learning Heroes who will each teach the children about a strategy or skill they can use to help them when they face a challenge.
Our first BLP Learning Hero that the children will learn about is the Determinator. He is the champion of maintaining a Growth Mindset and he never gives up!
