Pupil Engagement
School Council
The School Council representatives from each year group have a very important role within Norwood Primary & Pre-School as they implement change within the school based on what they think is important and will be a positive change for the good of all pupils. The school councilors work alongside Mrs Massa, one of our Deputy Headteachers, to implement these changes and they meet regularly to discuss key issues. School councilors hold regular class council meetings so that every child feels that they can contribute their idea which will later be brought to an official school council meeting and will be discussed. School Council representatives are an important part of driving forward areas of school improvement from the pupil’s perspective and their ideas are highly valued and often acted upon.

Young Ambassadors
The Young Ambassador Scheme aims to provide additional support to pupils who are new to Norwood Primary & Pre-School. Pupils use their language skills in a variety of ways to help new arrivals feel part of the school by showing them routines and supporting them as they settle in. We believe that the Young Ambassador Scheme teaches the importance of respect, care, responsibility and friendship. The Young Ambassadors help children within their class but are also always available on the playground for support and are key in raising the profile of other languages, cultures and religions within the school.
