PSHE

What we teach in the classroom helps our children foster lifelong aspirations, goals and values.

With this in mind, PSHE education isn’t just another school subject. It’s a chance to give every child an equal opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge they need to thrive and flourish now and in the future.

This includes helping them to deal with critical issues they face every day such as friendships, emotional wellbeing and change, as well as giving them a solid foundation for whatever challenging opportunities lie ahead, so they can face a world full of uncertainty with hope. PSHE education helps our children prepare for all the opportunities, challenges, life decisions and responsibilities they'll face.

At Norwood Primary and Pre-School, we use the PSHE Association to structure, teach and resource our PSHE curriculum, including statutory relationships, sex and health education (RSHE) content.

In July 2025, the Department for Education revised and updated the RSHE education framework to reflect changes in our society and world. This new framework will be implemented in September 2026. For more information on this, visit New RSHE guidance: what parents need to know  – The Education Hub

Below, you can find our 2026 PSHE Programme of Study and further information on how this incorporates RSHE education.
