Day 3

Our final full day at Stubbington began with clear blue skies and some sunshine, which was wonderful! In the morning, both classes joined forces for Stubbington Fox. Before we could head out, first we both went around Stubbington to discover the tracks and trails left by animals. We found deer prints, fox prints, a badger sett and even badger poo!

After this, we then discussed the threats facing foxes in the United Kingdom and then found out that we were to become foxes. We went out into the Conservation area and had to avoid the farmers whilst collecting clues to help us unscramble a word. Farmer Davies and Farmer Balogh caught many foxes who were creeping around their chickens!

After lunch, we discussed the animal tracks and trails we found earlier as proof of mammal life in the Conservation area. We then discussed what a small mammal would like in its hotel room, before we made some 5 Star rooms using hay, guinea pig food and tasty apple. We’ve all got our fingers crossed that a small mammal chooses our hotel rooms to stay in – we find out tomorrow!

This evening, there was the incredible and world-famous ‘S Factor’ talent show! In our house teams, we preformed our song – starting with the Badgers, then the Foxes, then the Kestrels and finally the Owls. We loved meeting Mr Scarborough’s assistant judge, Foxy, and had a fun evening. It was then time for supper before drifting off to bed to dream of tiny mice in beds of hay.
