Welcome to Norwood Primary School !
You may already be a member of our school community, a prospective parent or just interested in finding out more about us, so we are delighted that you have visited our website and hope that you will find all that you require to give you information about our school.
Norwood Primary is a community school in the middle of Eastleigh town centre but it is growing! From September 2015 we will be expanding to two form entry, starting with Reception Year. To accommodate the growing numbers we will expanding our site by moving into the Chamberlayne building which has its origins in the Victorian era and was part of the school up until 2007.
Norwood Primary School is also part of a collaboration with the Crescent Primary School. The collaboration is well established and our strong partnership enables us to enrich our children's learning through sharing curriculum resources, working together competitively and creatively while nurturing the same values for our local community.
At Norwood, we aim to provide children with a happy and secure environment in which our children can explore, inspire each other, achieve and flourish. Our Early Years Foundation stage lays the important foundation for our children to learn through exploration and child initiated activities. We build on these experiences as the children move into KS1 as we believe that children learn best when they are well motivated through a wide range of practical , hands on, enjoyable and challenging activities. This continues into KS2 as the children become more independent and responsible for their learning.
We have high expectations of each child and endeavour to help every one of them to flourish and reach their full potential and are very proud of our school. Our staff, governors, parents and local community all work together for the benefit of each and every child.
Children and their learning are at the heart of all that we do. We hope you feel encouraged to be part of this and to work with us to form the strongest of partnerships. A strong partnership between home and school ensures that each child is able to flourish as they grow and as they learn. Your views about school are always welcome and so are you. Just let us know if you would like to offer to help in any way and please do not hesitate to come into school if you have any concerns or would like to discuss any issues.
We hope you enjoy exploring our school website. If you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us or arrange a visit to us. We look forward to showing you around and introducing you to our children and staff.
