Day 4

The rain didn’t dampen our spirits as we headed back to the classrooms to see if Badger Bog and Murky Marsh had given us some visitors! Feeling very excited, we carefully and quietly watched with baited breath as they were opened. Although Hawke Class sadly didn’t receive any visitors from Badger Bog, Gold Class had six lodgers in their hotels. There were: three Long Tailed Field Mice, two Yellow Necked Mice and a sleepy Bank Vole! We had a lot of fun measuring them, weighing them and giving them names. After a break, we returned to sketch our new friends and label a scientific diagram. We hope our visitors will give our small mammal hotels a 5-star rating on trip advisor!

After lunch we waved goodbye to the fabulous centre staff and returned, tired and happy, to school. What a wonderful – if a tad damp – week we’ve had!

Thank you to the children of Gold and Hawke Classes. You received exceptional praise for your Collaboration and teamwork from the Stubbington Staff and have represented Norwood brilliantly!
