At Norwood we value educational visits of all types to support learning across our curriculum. Children at Norwood experience at least one trip over the course of the year, often supported by visits around our location. We also run residential trips in Years 4 and 6.
Stubbington is a study centre run by Hampshire, situated near Lee on Solent. Year 4 children spend a week at the centre engaging in outdoor activities and team building challenges. This residential visit takes place during the Spring Term.
Residential visits to an outdoor centre provides excellent opportunities for children and young people to learn. As well as supporting learning across many curriculum areas, a residential stay is particularly powerful in the social and emotional aspects of learning. Communication, collaboration, confidence, empathy and self esteem are key areas we deliver on, which support and enable learning in other areas. Year 6 spend four nights together exploring, collaborating and having fun!
