Norwood Primary & Pre-School

Year 3 (Fletcher Class & Kitamura Class)

At Norwood this year, we have chosen to have the theme of authors for our class names. Collaboratively, we decided we wanted to be Fletcher and Kitamura Classes this year. They are both entertaining and quite funny authors!

Why not do some of your own research with your child and see what other amazing facts you can discover about the children's authors Tom Fletcher and Satoshi Kitamura?

We will update this page regularly, so please make sure you pop back and have a look to see what we have been up to!

We are really looking forward to what the year has to offer us! If you have any concerns, please contact the school office and your class teacher will get back to you as soon as possible.  Alternatively, there are the class email addresses where you can also email any home learning completed! Mrs Tarbard/Mrs Collins and Fletcher Class are year3a@norwood.hants.sch.uk and Miss Burbridge and Kitamura class are year3b@norwood.hants.sch.uk. These emails are checked weekly so anything more urgent please contact the office.

Useful Information

Please ensure they have their water bottle in school everyday.

Our PE day is a Tuesday. Children need to come to school in their full PE kit and will stay in it all day.

P.E kit should consist of black/blue shorts and a plain white t shirt with no logos, including trainers. Tracksuit bottoms can be worn during the colder times and should be a dark colour. Children can also wear a jumper/hoody which should ideally be a dark colour too. Your child will be required to tie their hair up and remove their earrings (which should be done at home if possible) in accordance with Hampshire guidance.

We will be sending your child home with reading books and library books. Please read at home as often as possible and bring your book back into school when finished to replace it with a new book. If your child accesses Little Wandle they will still be able to view their e-books on the usual website.

We still have membership to the online times tables games at Times Tables Rock Stars and will be able to remind children of their login details in school if they have forgotten them. This is a vital website over the forthcoming year as all Year 3 children will be tested on their Times Tables in Year 4 and they would benefit from a good grounding in timestables this year.

Home learning will be sent home on a Wednesday and expected back the following Monday. This will be a mixture of creative home learning tasks, Maths and English. Spellings will be sent home in the form of train and ladder words. Please continue to support your child learning these and returning them to school when they are confident.
