Hello!
At Norwood this year, we have chosen to have the theme of authors for our class names. Collaboratively, we decided on the names Hollingsworth and Almond. Check back here in the next few days to see some of our research into these authors.

The Year 6 Team
Some useful bits of information
* Our indoor and outdoor PE sessions will both be on a Monday this year. We are asking for children to come to school wearing their PE kits, with shorts underneath jogging bottoms and a dark jumper to keep them warm when necessary. Please make sure that hair is tied back on these days, and earrings and other jewellery has been removed.
A reminder that our school PE kit consists of a plain white t-shirt, with plain navy or black shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms and a plain navy or black jumper.
* We will be sending you home with reading books and children also have the opportunity to bring home a library book too! Please read at home as often as possible and bring your book back into school when finished to replace it with a new book.
* We still have membership to the online times tables games at Times Tables Rock Stars and have reminded children of their login details.
* Apologies - our Spelling day has had to change. Spellings will now be sent home on a Monday to be learnt and discussed before a spelling test the following Monday. Children will be tested on:
5 words from the spelling list (in their yellow home spelling book)
3 words from the list from the previous week
2 of the Statutory spellings words (which your child should have brought home on an A4 sheet)
Please encourage your child to bring their yellow book in every Monday.

In the weeks leading up to SATs, please practise the Year 5 and 6 spelling words below until you can spell them all correctly!
Those children working with Mrs Curtis can begin with the Year 3 and 4 words first, if you wish.
